When your pendulum arrives, there are several things you should do before using it. You might have your own ritual, but I thought I would share what I do, in case you don't have one! The ritual of bonding with your pendulum is REALLY important. I cannot express how important these steps are. Taking some extra time at the beginning will save you a lot of confusion and possible heartache.
When I start with my pendulum, I use black sea salt and a dish. I put the pendulum in the dish and cover the entire pendulum. I let this sit for 24 hours.
I remove the pendulum from the salt and carry it with me for several days. I call this my bonding time, typically 3 days. Then I sit down with my pendulum and a board and do a clearing of the pendulum and my own energy.
Clearing is done with a board and spirit uses the pendulum to clear the energy by circling clockwise around the board. Tell your guides you would like to do a clearing and the pendulum will start the process, when it stops the clearing is complete.
Once you are cleared you can use your pendulum to communicate.
Do a simple meditation before using your pendulum. Take deep breaths and connect with your guides. When using a pendulum or any divination tool really, white light and meditation are vital! Make a plan to do a meditation daily and during your meditation do a white light protection.
Your guides will let you know the best method to use prior to reading but until then I say "overdue it" to be sure you are communicating in the light and with love. As you learn and communicate with your guides you can adjust to the best method for you.
Do not use your pendulum when you are feeling negatively emotional (upset) and if you are not sure if your energy is high enough you can ask your pendulum if it a good time for questions.
